The plane passes over the team while several pieces of paper come fluttering down. SFX: ROOAARRRRRR
Zhang picks up one of the pieces of paper. Zhang: What the heck… those are Paloraid pictures!
We see the picture, showing everyone with frightened faces while Heidi and Max hold each other in fear. Zhang: What a… lovely souvenir. Now we know where those cameras ended up.
Heidi: Why did that thing leave its zone? Zhang: I start to see why they insisted on minimal staffing while systems are being tested. If that plane did have a gun, bugs could be pretty lethal.
Max: The same lunatic who tampered with the robots may be behind this. Maybe something is roaming around, equipped with the 30mm autocannon that would normally be in that A-10. Let's get the heck out of this place, I don't want to experience first-hand what other insanities have been implemented here.
The team arrives at the hovercraft station. Zhang: They're going to need to seriously crank up their QA efforts to make this park economically viable. Heidi: Indeed, murdering one's customers or giving them heart attacks is not a good business plan beyond merely the very short term…
Setting: Back at the S.O.N.A.I.S. building, where Adil walks into Steve's office with his laptop. Adil: I'm having a problem with my laptop again! Steve: Well, at least it's not another ransomware thing: nothing suspect on the network… actually nothing from your machine at all. Adil: That's my point: it won't even boot!
Steve: Aha, I see. It's the borked update from PigeonStrike. Adil: What is that? Steve: Cybersecurity package, threat prevention. Like McCoffee, but then not created by a murderer.
We see the PigeonStrike logo, a parody on the CrowdStrike logo, replacing the falcon with a pooping pigeon. Adil: But, it bricked my laptop, it's a threat in itself! Steve: You haven't learned from last time. Totally bricking your machine kept it 100% safe. Its threat prevention was never compromised.
Adil: Aaarghhh! If it goes on like this, you might someday convince me to switch to this… Lunix thing! Steve: Linux. That would be a glorious day indeed.

SONAIS 84 - Tuesday, July 30, 2024
Setting: Heidi, Max and Zhang are back at the office. Alana: You're back! That took quite a while. How did it go? Zhang: Well, about the only positive thing to report is, we're still alive. I would never do QA for them… if they ever discover the concept of QA, that is. Alana: Oh my, what happened?
Heidi: They threw together a bunch of contractors who they expected to work together while imposing their strict need-to-know policy… resulting in the biggest mess I have ever seen. Alana: How did they end up losing communications?
Max: That's where it gets really weird, it looks like intentional sabotage, but we don't know by whom. Also, we're not supposed to tell anyone, but someone has been killed. Alana: What?!
Heidi: We sort of got bribed to keep it quiet. I know it's awful, but these people have some pretty powerful allies which we might not want to turn against us.
